State Rep. Mike Harris | Michigan House Republicans
After regaining control of the Michigan House of Representatives, state Republicans have chosen Rep. Mike Harris to continue serving as the majority caucus whip for the 2025-2026 term. Harris has held this position since January 2023.
"Michigan voters swept House Republicans back into the majority, and we’re on a mission to move our state forward once again," stated Harris. He expressed his eagerness to serve as caucus whip again, emphasizing his role in providing his community with a voice within the House leadership team. "Now, our majority caucus will continue working to keep people safe, fix our roads, provide a good education, and protect hard-working taxpayers from tax hikes and wasteful spending."
In his capacity as whip, Harris will be responsible for keeping colleagues informed about significant issues and upcoming decisions in the Michigan House of Representatives. His duties include acting as a liaison between the caucus leadership team and other representatives while tracking votes and assisting legislators with policy-related inquiries.
Harris represents the Oakland County-based 52nd House District. This district encompasses Lake Angelus and Clarkston cities, Independence Township, and parts of Springfield and Waterford townships.
