LANSING, Mich. — Former Secretary of State Ruth Johnson and House Republican Leader Matt Hall will join Hogan Gidley of the America First Policy Institute Center for Election Integrity to hold a press conference on Wednesday, June 12, regarding the need to maintain clean and accurate voter rolls.
Sen. Ruth Johnson, R-Holly, House Republican Leader Matt Hall, R-Richland Township, and Hogan Gidley of the America First Policy Institute Center for Election Integrity will address the public at the Michigan State Capitol's north steps at 12:30 p.m.
The event aims to discuss maintaining accurate voter rolls and encourage the passage of the federal Voter Registration Efficiency Act. Johnson, who served as Michigan secretary of state from 2011 through 2018 and currently serves as the minority vice chair of the Senate Elections and Ethics Committee, plans to introduce a Senate resolution supporting H.R. 2566. This bill was introduced by U.S. Rep. Lisa McClain.
