The Madison Public Schools District recognized several students and principals for their achievements at a recent Board of Education meeting.
The students honored on May 1 were nominated by their teachers for students of the month recognition due to their exemplary behavior and attitudes in the classroom. Building leaders from each grade level is a pillar for the district with some of the students sharing their positive behaviors with the board.
Staff from the Early Childhood Learning Center honored Bryson, who greets everyone each morning with a smile and a hug, and is always ready to learn. They also applauded Kasie, who also loves school and knows how to follow instructions in all her lessons.
Principal Felecia Hemingway from Madison Elementary School recognized fourth graders Jonathon and Chloe. Jonathan was described as always kind and caring to all of his friends and classmates and Chloe as an excellent student who loves to help her classmates when they don’t yet understand a new lesson.
From middle school, Principal Tiffany Collins recognized sixth graders Ciana and Jason for their positive attitudes. Lastly, high school juniors Fiona and Omari drew recognition from some of their teachers.
The district also honored some of its teachers and administrators for all of their hard work.
“So, this month we are going to honor our building administrators,” Superintendent Patricia Perry said. “Surprise! Today is actually Principal Appreciation Day, and our principals, our assistant principals and our deans, they go through so much, they do so much, and we just want to take the opportunity to honor them.”
Perry was aided by some of the teachers and staff in honoring Early Education Center Principal Lisa DiGuiulio, Madison Elementary School’s Principal Hemingway, middle school Principal Collins and high school Principal Stacy Cauley.
Perry read numerous comments from teachers and staff working under the principals who thanked them for their ongoing support and understanding. They also thanked their assistant principals for their efforts to keep each school running as smoothly as possible.
