Township of Waterford issued the following announcement on Nov. 24.
Waterford Township is seeking a member to serve on the Board of Review for the two-year period January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2023. The three-member Board of Review meets to review property assessments, hear assessment appeals, and make any needed corrections to the assessment roll. In addition, they may meet to be advised on assessments, assessment appeals and to sign documents, certificates, affidavits, etc. The Board is also responsible, at its July and December sessions, to hear local appeals on approvals and denials of homestead exemption issues and poverty appeals. The Board members must participate in at least one training session each year.
The Board of Review shall consist of three taxpaying electors of Waterford Township who shall be property owners of land within the Township. The members shall be appointed by the Township Board of Trustees.
