The fledgling Oakland University Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter has earned a tremendous national honor within the PRSA organization. The group is being awarded with the extremely competitive Teahan Award for Chapter Development.
“The Teahan award is a remarkable testament to the growth, interest and activity level of our PRSSA chapter at Oakland University,” said Chiaoning Su, associate professor in the department of Communication, Journalism and Public Relations and faculty adviser to OU’s PRSSA group. “This is wonderful news to learn as we head into the holiday season. We are thankful for this recognition and have a full event calendar planned for the upcoming winter semester.”
In a congratulatory email from Ben Castleman, student programs coordinator for PRSSA, he said, “We are so proud of all of the work that you’ve done on behalf of the Society and we’re glad we can recognize this work with one of the highest honors we give out.”
The Teahan award comes with an award plaque and a financial award to aid in future programming for the OU Chapter.
The Teahan award marks the third major organization award for the OU PRSSA group following the 2021 Fall Pacesetter Chapter Award and the 2022 Winter Star Chapter Award.
