At 3:58 pm, the Auburn Hills Fire Department (AHFD) was dispatched to the 2100 block of Kircher Court for a reported structure fire. Personnel arrived on scene to find a detached garage, two vehicles and the residence on fire. The residents reported that everyone was out of building, but seven cats were still inside.

Fire crews were able to make entry and extinguish the fire in the rear of the home that had spread to the first and second floors as well as the attic. Several of the cats were rescued by fire crews working in the home and some others escaped and were located outside. The residents were still searching for others which were hoped to have escaped.

Fire personnel from Rochester Hills provided mutual aid at the scene. Fire Personnel from Rochester City and Orion Township provided backup fire emergency coverage for the City. Alliance Mobile Health provided EMS standby during the event. Auburn Hills PD assisted on scene.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. There were no injuries to residents or fire personnel.
