Oakland County issued the following announcement on Jan. 27.
Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter applauds Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's call to put Michigan families first by bolstering fixed- and low-income households. He also supports advancing electric vehicle sales through the governor's proposed $2,500 electric vehicle rebate. Coulter released the following statement in response to Gov. Whitmer's State of the State address:
"The forward-looking proposals outlined by Gov. Whitmer during her State of the State address will bring welcome relief to Michigan seniors and families, who still are dealing with a virus that has taken such a toll on our nation and state," said Oakland County Executive David Coulter. "Her bipartisan work with the Legislature is paying dividends in areas most important to our residents, including education and training, jobs, environmental sustainability, infrastructure and wellness. The $7 billion investment in Michigan announced by General Motors this week, including 2,000 new jobs at the Orion plant, shows that when we work together at all levels, the state's reputation as a premier location for advanced technology and manufacturing is boosted and good things happen for Michigan."
