Oakland Schools issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.
Oakland Schools’ Superintendent Dr. Wanda Cook-Robinson has been elected to serve as president of the Urban Superintendents Association of America (USAA), a national organization that assists public school superintendents who oversee small- and medium-size urban school districts.
“To be elected as president of this organization is a great honor, as its goals and objectives of ensuring all students receive an equitable education no matter race, background or disability is a lifelong passion of mine,” said Dr. Cook-Robinson.
