CHARTER TOWN OF WATERFORD: Veterans COVID-19 Emergency Financial Relief Grant

Charter Town of Waterford issued the following announcement on Sept. 18.

Oakland County has established $1 million in emergency financial assistance for Oakland County veterans, service members and eligible family members affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Oakland County Veteran Service Fund was created by an allocation from the Oakland County Board of Commissioners using money from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and a grant the county received from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.

Financial assistance can be provided for:

Housing

Utilities

Food Assistance

Child Care

Home & Vehicle Repairs

Other Financial Impacts due to COVID-19

The maximum request is $2,500. Each request for food assistance cannot exceed $150, with a maximum allocation of $500.

Applicants must be a resident of Oakland County have received honorable or general under honorable conditions discharge from the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, National Guard, Reserves or women’s auxiliaries or be a dependent of the veteran.
