Clarkston Community School District issued the following announcement on May 08.
Though this year's Teacher Appreciation Week celebration occurred in the most unusual of times, you went above and beyond to show our educators how much you care. Thank you for the notes, drawings, photos, signs, and gifts! Your outpouring of support this week and always keep us motivated and moving forward.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and now more than ever, it's important to keep our personal well-being in focus. Today I concluded our Teacher Appreciation Week with a note to staff today inviting them to take a "mental health day" next Wednesday, May 13. It's my hope that those who have continued to work since we closed school in March will use this day as an opportunity to step away to refill their tanks and refocus for a strong end to the school year. Thanks in advance for allowing them this mid-week breather.
Do you need a break too? If you're able to disconnect for a few hours, please join us in our Well-Being Wednesday mental health day and spend the day doing what you love (or nothing at all)!
"For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack." Stay strong, Wolves!
