Charted Town of Waterford issued the following announcement on March 26.
Please remember the only open burning allowed by Michigan State Law in Waterford are campfires. Burning of leaves and yard waste is NOT permitted.
Please be respectful of your neighbors - especially those with breathing problems - and refrain from burning leaves.
Yard waste collection begins the week of April 6th for Waterford residents under the new contract with GFL Environmental. Under this new program, yard waste is unlimited, so no worries if you have more than 8, 12, or even 20 bags.
So feel free to get out there to rake and bag your leaves. Just don’t burn them!
