Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 18.
It’s an old fashioned Square Dance and Dinner to raise funds for a Rock Climbing Wall at Waterford School District’s Houghton Elementary in White Lake. Don’t worry -- square dancing experience isn’t needed, the caller will teach us all the steps! Bring the family out for an evening of fun and food!
Our Square Dance will provide funds to build a Rock Climbing Wall to help Houghton Elementary students “Reach for the Sky for Nikolai!” The wall is being constructed to honor the memory of Nikolai Miller, a former student. Nikolai had just celebrated his 15th birthday and the start of summer vacation when he died by suicide on June 20, 2019 at the age of 15. His family and friends want to bring awareness to people in our schools and community who are struggling. There are resources available and people who want to help. You can help by coming out to the Square Dance or making a donation.
Tickets are $15 per adult, $10 for students age 5-17, kids 4 and under are free. Tickets will be an additional $5 more if purchased at the door.
Tickets available here!! Monetary donations are also excepted via Eventbrite, thank you!!

This event would not be possible without donations and support from Houghton PTA, The Daily Diner, Ideas For You, Beauchamp Water Treatment Solutions and McLaren Oakland.
