State Representative Mike Harris, a Republican from Waterford, participated in a commemorative event at the Michigan State Capitol on September 11, 2024. He was joined by John Dean, the former chief of the Waterford Township Police Department. Harris had previously served under Dean as a police sergeant.

The occasion was part of the Michigan House of Representatives’ annual ceremony to remember the 9/11 terrorist attacks and to honor first responders. The event brought together various officials and dignitaries to pay tribute to those who lost their lives and those who served during and after the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Harris expressed his appreciation for first responders and reflected on his time serving under Chief Dean. The ceremony aimed to highlight the ongoing commitment and bravery of emergency service personnel.
